ORELHA-DE-ELEFANTE
Planta da família Araceae, da espécie Alocasia macrorhiza Schott.
Nota 2: Ela é ornamental, herbácea, rozimatosa, de caule espesso, de 1,0 a 2,0 m de altura, com folhas grandes, verdes, carnosas, cerosas e de nervuras marcantes. Na forma variegata, elas são manchadas de branco. Inflorescência sem importância decorativa. Pode ser cultivada como planta isolada em jardins, a pleno sol ou a meia-sombra. Tolera terrenos alagadiços, porém não resiste a geadas. Multiplica-se por mudas.

Note 2: It is ornamental, herbaceous, rhozimatose, with thick stem and 1-2 m high; its leaves are big, green, fleshy, waxy, with notable ribbings. In the kind variegata, they are white-spotted. It can be cultivated as an isolated plant in gardens, in full sun or half shade. It resists to flooding areas, but not frosts. It reproduces by seedlings.
