Arbusto semilenhoso da família Melastomataceae, da espécie Tibouchina grandifolia Cogn.
Nota 2: É muito ramificada, com 1 a 3 m de altura. Possui folhas grandes, cordiformes, verde-escuras, pilosas; inflorescências terminais, curtas, em grande número, com flores roxas, pequenas, que se formam na primavera/verão. Multiplica-se por estacas que se enraízam com facilidade. É cultivada isoladamente ou em conjunto, a pleno sol e em terra fértil.

Note 2: It is very branched, with 1-3 m high. It has big, heart-shaped, dark green and hairy leaves. Plenty of terminal and short inflorescences; purple and small flowers that grow in spring/summer. It reproduces by stakes that take roots easily. It is cultivated separately or in clusters, in full sun and fertile soil.
