Nota 1 e 2: É originária da Nova Caledônia, cujo pedúnculo se ingurgita como o do caju e fornece suco do qual se faz bebida fermentada, sendo a castanha comestível, mas a planta passa por venenosa.

A plant of the family Anacardiaceae, of the species Rhus atra Forst. (Semecarpus atra Vieill.).
Note 1 and 2: It is originated from New Caledonia, whose peduncle ingurgitates like one of cashew and provides juice from which a fermented beverage is produced, being the nut edible, but the plant is considered poisoned.
