MAÇARANDUBA-DO-CEARÁ
Árvore da família Sapotaceae, da espécie Manilkara rufula Lam. (Mimusops rufula Miq.).
Nota 1 e 2: É nativa das matas do Maranhão e Ceará até Pernambuco. É majestosa, que se desenvolve até 25-35 m de altura e diâmetro de 80-250 cm. Possui pêlos e escamas avermelhados que se notam nos ramos, nos pecíolos e na face ventral das folhas; estas são rígidas e coriáceas, elípticas, curtopecioladas e duras. Os frutos maduros se mostram de uma coloração desde vermelho-alaranjada até escarlate; polpa amarela, lactescente, doce e comestível.

Note 1 and 2: It is native of the woods of Maranhão and Ceará states, until Pernambuco state. It is majestic, that develop until reaching 25-35 m high and 80-250 cm of diameter. It has hair and reddish scales that can be observed on the branches, on the petioles and on the ventral side of leaves; these are rigid and coriaceous, elliptical, short petiolate and hard. The ripen fruits present colors varying from reddish orange to scarlet; yellow pulp, latescent, sweet and edible.
