Nota 1 e 2: É encontrada da Bahia ao Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo e Minas Gerais. É bela, que sobe até 35 m de altura e atinge 1,50 m de diâmetro. Possui casca grossa, rasgada por fissuras verticais profundas. Madeira vermelho-viva. Fruto pequeno sem valor frutícola.

A tree of the family Sapotaceae, of the species Manilkara elata (Fr. All.) Monac.
Note 1 and 2: It is found from Bahia to Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Minas Gerais states. It is a beautiful tree that reaches up to 35 m high and 1.50 m of diameter. It has a thick bark, traced by deep vertical cracks. Bright red wood. Small fruit without fruit value.
