MAGNÓLIA
Arbusto da família Magnoliaceae, da espécie Magnolia liliflora Desr.
Nota 1 e 2: É procedente da China e do Japão. É vigoroso, de 1,5 a 3,0 m de altura, com muitos ramos eretos e folhas grandes, elíptico-ovaladas, coriáceas e decíduas. Apresenta o hábito de emitir brotos da raiz, gerando uma verdadeira touceira. Flores grandes, brancas internamente e arroxeadas externamente, formadas durante o inverno, após a queda das flores. É cultivado isolado ou formando grupos em parques e jardins, a pleno sol. Multiplica-se por estacas durante o inverno ou por alporque.

Note 1 and 2: It is from China and Japan. It is strong, of 1.5 to 3.0 m high, with erect branches and big leaves, elliptical oval, coriaceous and deciduous. It is used to giving out sprouts from its root, producing a real clump. Big flowers, internally white and externally purplish, growing during the winter, after the fall of the flowers. It is cultivated isolated or grouped in parks and gardens, in full sun. It reproduces by stakes during the winter or by layering.
