ELAIES
Planta do gênero Palmae com uma única espécie Elaies melanococca Gaertn., Corozo oleifera (HBK) Baill., Alfonsia oleifera (HBK), o caiauê ou dendê-do-paraná.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é nativa das florestas sul-americanas que se estendem pela Colômbia às Guianas e ao norte do Brasil. É tanto cultivado quanto encontrado principalmente na Bahia. Existem dois tipos de dendê: o caiauê de tronco grosso e baixo, com folhas tocando o solo e o dendê, com tronco retilíneo e altaneiro.

Note 1 and 2: It is native of the South American forests, which was spread from Colombia to the Guyanas and the North of Brazil. It is cultivated and found mainly in state of Bahia, Brazil. There are two types of oil palms: caiauê with a thick and low trunk, with leaves on the ground and the oil palm, with rectilinear and high trunk. Vulgarization: palma christi.
