Planta da família Scrophulariaceae, da espécie Digitalis purpurea L.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é originária da Europa e Ásia, mas há tempo introduzidas nas Américas, crescendo espontaneamente em terrenos baldios. Seus preparados são diuréticos, sedativos e narcóticos, sendo seu princípio ativo a digitalina, tônico vásculo-cardíaco de uso na terapêutica veterinária. Suas flores são grandes, de coloração púrpura, que inspirou o nome da espécie.

Note1 and 2: It is from Europe and Asia, but it has been introduced in Americas for a long time. It grows spontaneously in wastelands. Its products are diuretic, sedating, and narcotic. Being the digitalin, a vascular and cardiac tonic, its active principle highly used in veterinary therapeutics. Its flowers are big and purple what probably inspired the name of the species.
