Arbusto da família Leguminosae e da espécie Erythrina crista-galli L.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é comum em locais úmidos à beira de lagos e córregos. Ela pode alcançar até 1,50 m de altura. Apresenta ramos verdes, dotados de espinhos, assim como acúleos nos pecíolos e na face inferior das folhas. Floresce intensamente por dois ou três meses, depois de perder a folhagem, produzindo compridas flores de cor vermelha intensa, muito atrativas.

Note 1 and 2: It is typically found in humid places such as lake and stream banks. It can reach until 1.50 m of height. It has thorny green branches as well as spines in the petioles and on the inferior leaf face. It flowers intensively for two or three months, after losing its foliage, producing long and intense red flowers, which are very attractive.
