ERVA-DE-ORVALHO
Planta da família Aizoaceae, da espécie Mesembryanthemum crystallium L.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela adapta-se bem aos climas tropicais e subtropicais e desenvolve-se a pleno sol. Não é exigente em relação a solos, porém não tolera excesso de umidade. É cultivada com o objetivo de aproveitar toda a parte aérea enquanto verde e tenra ao atingirem aproximadamente 30 cm. Consumida cozida e misturada com farinha e leite, formando uma pasta macia e de sabor agradável.

Note 1 and 2: It adapts itself well to tropical and subtropical climates and sunny weather. It is not very strict to soils, but it cannot tolerate humidity excess. It is cropped to harvest the total aerial part while green and soft when it reaches approximately 30 cm. It can be eaten cooked and mixed with flour and milk resulting a smooth and tasteful mixture.
