ESPATÓDEA
Árvore da família Bignonaceae, da espécie Spathodea campanulata P. Beauv.(S.nilotica Seem).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é originária da Uganda, e introduzida no Brasil como ornamental, empregada na arborização urbana, devido ao seu porte elegante e suas belas flores. Elas são grandes e numerosas, vermelhas no exterior e amarelas no interior e têm má reputação entre os apicultores por serem mortais às abelhas. Seus botões florais expelem um líquido, quando espremidos.

Note 1 and 2: It is from Uganda and introduced in Brazil as ornamental for urban afforestation due to its height and beautiful flowers. Its flowers are big and numerous, red inside and yellow outside. They have a bad reputation among beekeepers because they lethal to the bees. Its flower buttons a liquid when they are squeezed that’s why it is also known as the tube tree.
