HEDÍQUIO-AMARELO
Planta pertencente à família Zingiberaceae, da espécie Hedychium gardnerianum Sheppard ex-Ker-Gaul.
Nota 1 e 2: Originária da Índia, encontrada em altitudes de aproximadamente 2500 m. Quando adulta apresenta sistema radicular rizomatoso desenvolvido, emitindo caules eretos que chegam até 1,80 m de altura; suas folhas são alternas, opostas de 20 a 40 cm de comprimento e 10 a 15 cm de largura; as inflorescências, terminais, são espigas, alcançando, às vezes 40 cm, flores amarelo-claras, corolas tuberosas, lobos alongados e gineceus com estiletes proeminentes, vermelhos. É propagada por rizomas, mas produz sementes variáveis. É conhecida mundialmente como ornamental e pelo seu perfume.

As an adult plant, presents a developed rhizomatous root system, emitting erect stalks that can be 1.80 m tall. Its leaves are alternate, opposite from 20 to 40 cm of length and 10 to 15 cm of width. Its terminal inflorescences are cobs, reaching, at times 40 cm, light yellow flowers, reaching, at times, 40 cm, light yellow flowers, tubular corolla, elongated lobe, apocarps, and pistils with prominent red stilettos. It is spread by rhizomes, but produces variable seeds. It is known worldwide for its perfume and for being decorative.
