HELIOTRÓPIO
Planta ornamental da família Boraginaceae, do gênero Heliotropium, que abrange diversas espécies, sendo a H. peruvianum L. a mais conhecida no Brasil.
Nota 1 e 2: É sensível à geada e a longos períodos de muito calor. Embora seja perene, em tais condições não sobrevive por longo tempo. Apresenta heliotropismo transversal, pois sua parte aérea acompanha a movimentação do sol. Varia muito em relação ao aspecto e porte. Conforme o sistema de cultivo, pode se mostrar herbácea, subarbustiva ou arbustiva. As flores brancas, roxas ou azuladas formam inflorescências terminais, do tipo corimbo-espiralado, que exalam forte perfume. Suas folhas aceitam variadas podas. A planta multiplica-se por sementes ou estacas.

It has transverse heliotropism, since its aerial part follows the sun's movement. Appears in many sizes and aspects. According to its cropping system, it may turn into herbaceous, sub shrub or shrubby. The white, purple or bluish flowers form end inflorescences of the spiral corymb type, emanating a strong perfume. Its leaves accept many types of pruning. The plant multiply by seeds or stakes.
