Planta da família Liliaceae, da espécie Hemerocalis fulva L., de numerosos cultivares híbridos como H. hybrida Hort.
Nota 1 e 2: Procedente da Europa e da Ásia. Ela é herbácea, rizomatosa e perene, com 40-60 cm de altura e folhas lineares estreitas. Inflorescências eretas, com flores alaranjadas, simples ou dobradas, que se formam durante grande parte do ano. Suas flores possuem tonalidades variadas do amarelo, laranja, marrom à rósea. Multiplica-se por divisão da touceira.
