Liana da família Cucurbitaceae, da espécie Fevillea trilobata L. (F. cordifolia Vell., F. marcgravii Guib., F. triangularis Roem. Hypanthera guapeva Manso).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é originária das Filipinas e introduzida no Brasil. Ela é herbácea de caule e ramos finos, pubescentes ou tomentosos. As folhas são ovadas, 3-5 lobadas. Os frutos são pepônio-globosos, 3–loculares, 1-4 cm de diâmetro ou mais, verdes, ligeiramente tomento-ferruginosos com epicarpo duro. As sementes são de 4-8 orbiculares, compridas, escuras, aladas, rugosas e oleaginosas que podem ser comidas cruas ou assadas e têm função tônica, estomáquica, emética e emenagoga, combatendo a icterícia e os males do fígado.

Note 1 and 2: It is from the Philippines and introduced in Brazil. It is herbaceous, of thin pubescent or tomentose stem and branches. Its leaves are oval with 3-5 lobules. Its fruits are globous cucumbers, 3-locular, 1-4 cm of diameter or more, slightly tomentum ferruginous with a hard epicarp. Its seeds are of 4-8 orbicular, long, dark, winged, wrinkled and oily, which can be eaten raw or baked. They have tonic, stomach, emetic and emmenagogue properties, fighting against jaundice and liver diseases.
