FIGO-DA-ÍNDIA
Cactus da família Cactaceae, da espécie Opuntia ficus-indica Mill. (Cactus ficus-indica L., C. ficus Thunb., C. opuntia Gus., Opuntia gymnocarpa Web., O. ficus-barbarica Bery., O. vulgaris Ten., Platyopuntia fícus-indica Fric & Schele).
Nota 1 e 2: Ele é originário do altiplano do México. Ele é ereto e avantajado, semelhante à uma árvore, atingindo 2-5 m de altura, xerófita, ramosa. O tronco é lenhoso, cilíndrico, artículos elípticos ou oblongos, com formato de raquetes, com 30-60 cm de comprimento. As aréolas são pequenas, orbiculares, cobertas de lanugem branca e dotadas de gloquídeos amarelos, 1-2 pequenos frágeis e sem espinhos. As flores são amarelas, 7-10 cm de diâmetro, diurnas, surgindo nas aréolas por baixo do ápice dos artículos. Os frutos são amarelos, baciformes, oblongos ou piriformes, 4-9 cm de comprimento com polpa mole, branco-avermelhada e é provido de aréolas e gloquídeos.

Note 1 and 2: It is from the plateau of Mexico. It is straight and big as a tree, reaching 2-5 m of height, xerophyte, branchy. The trunk is woody, cylindrical, elliptical or oblong articles in the shape of racquets with 30-60 cm of height. The areoles are small, orbicular, covered with white hair and 1-2 thorny less small yellow gloquids. The flowers are yellow with 7-10 cm of diameter, daily time, emerging from the areoles to the article apex. The fruits are yellow, berry-shaped, oblong or piriform, 4-9 cm of length with a soft white-reddish pulp, which has areoles and gloquids.
