Plantas da família Polemoniaceae, do gênero Phlox, destacando-se a espécie P. drummondii Hook.
Nota 1 e 2: Elas são pouco exigentes em relação aos solos, desenvolvendo-se melhor em lugares bem iluminados e úmidos. Elas são anuais, muito vistosas e populares. Eretas ou difusas, altas ou baixas, lisas ou pubescentes e ramificadas. As folhas geralmente opostas, às vezes as superiores são alternadas, sempre inteiras. As flores de cores brilhantes: azul, vermelha, vermelho-azulada, púrpura ou branca, em cimeiras terminais, muito utilizadas em jardins ou jardineiras.

Note 1 and 2: They are not very strict concerning the soil type, but they develop better in lightly and humid places. They are annual, vivid and popular. Erect or diffused, tall or short, smooth or pubescent and branchy. The leaves are generally opposite; sometimes the superior ones are alternated, but always whole. The flowers have bright colors such as blue, red, blueish red, purple or white, arranged in terminal chimes, highly used in gardens and in pots.
