FRAMBOESA-VERMELHA-DAS-ANTILHAS
Planta da família Rosaceae, do gênero Rubus, da espécie R. rosaefolius Smith. (R. eglateria Tralt.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é nativa da China e do Nepal, da região do Himalaia, mas difundiu-se pelas terras tropicais, naturalizando-se nas Antilhas. Tornou-se subespontânea nas regiões frescas de Minas Gerais, São Paulo e Rio de Janeiro. Ela é ereta, de ramas sempre verdes com 1-1,80 m de comprimento, ocasionalmente pubescentes e armadas com esparsos espinhos pequenos e recurvos. As flores são brancas com diâmetro superior a 5 cm, solitárias ou em coroas multifloras. Os frutos têm 2,5 cm de comprimento, agregados com formato de dedal, vermelho-brilhantes, com sementes minutas, de sabor agradável, mas quase sem perfume.

Note 1 and 2: It is native of China and Nepal, in the Himalayan region but it was widespread to tropical areas, naturalizing itself as of the Antilles. It became sub spontaneously in the cold climates of Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro States. It is straight, always green branches with 1.0-1.80 m of length, occasionally pubescent and armed of sparse little and recurved thorns. Its flowers are white with a diameter more than 5 cm, single or multiflora crowns. Its fruits have 2.5 cm of length, grouped in a thimble shape.
