Arbusto da família da Capparidaceae, da espécie Capparis yco Eichl.(Calicodendron ico Mart., Capparis speciosa Moric.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ele é habitante típico do sertão nordestino, onde embora faltem chuvas, permanece sempre verde. Seus frutos são cápsulas ovóides, pontudas, verdes, que contém 4-6 sementes amareladas. Suas folhas são tóxicas aos solípedes.
