Planta arbustiva da família Myrtaceae, de espécie Eugenia stipitata Raddi (Guajava guineensis O. Kuntze; G. policarpa O. Kuntze; psidium minus Mart.).
Nota 2: O fruto baga ovóide, amarelo, 3-5 lóculos, com numerosas sementes duras, comestível ao natural e saboroso. Serve, ainda para preparo de geléias, doce de massa e compotas.
