INGÁ-AMARELO-GAÚCHO
Árvore da família Leguminosae Mimosoideae, da espécie Inga uruguensis Hook & Arn.
Nota 1 e 2: Ocorre no sul do Brasil, mais comum no Rio Grande do Sul. É uma pequena árvore, com ramos novos, pecíolos e folíolos cobertos de pelos crespos, ferruginosos. Folhas pinadas, 3-6 jogos de folíolos oval-lanceolados acuminados, com uma glândula deprimida entre si, orbicular e lisa. Flores em racemos. O arilo que envolve as sementes é de coloração argêntea, de consistência fundente, doce, de pronunciado aroma e comestível. Sementes 2-13, verdes. As flores aparecem em outubro-novembro e os frutos em fevereiro-março.

Note 1 and 2: It occurs in the south of Brazil; more commonly in Rio Grande do Sul. It is a small tree with new branches, petioles and leaflets covered with fuzzy hair, ferruginous. It has pinnate leaves, 3-6 sets of oval-lanceolate acuminate leaflets, with a depressed gland between them, orbicular and smooth. It has flowers in racemes. The aril that surrounds the seeds has a silvery color, fondant, sweet, distinctive aroma and edible. 2-13 seed, green. The flowers blossom in October-November and the fruit in February-March.
