Árovre da família Leguminosae Mimosoideae, da espécie Inga ingoides Willd. (Fevillea ingoides Willd.,Fevillea ingoides Kuntze, Inga galibica Duchass & Walp, Inga lamprophylla Wight., Inga merianae Splitg., Inga ornate Kunth., Mimosa ingoides Rich.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ele é típico das serras do Ceará. Ele é mediano, com folhas, pecíolos, inflorescências e ramos recobertos de tomento ferruginoso; folíolos de 3-5 jugos, oblongos. Inflorescências axilares de 2-6 cm de comprimento, tomentos avermelhados, em racemos solitários. As flores são hermafroditas e brancas. O fruto é legume cilíndrico, 10-30 cm de comprimento e 1,0 de espessura; as sementes são oval-achatadas, pretas, envoltas em arilo negro, floconoso, açucarado, comestível.

Note 1 and 2: It is typical of the hills of Ceará state. It has medium height, with leaves, petioles, inflorescences and branches covered with a rusty tomentum; the follicles have 3-5 oblong jugos. The inflorescences are axillary of 2-6 cm of length, with reddish tomentum disposed in single racemes. Its flowers are white and hermaphrodite. Its fruit is a cylindrical legume of 10-30 cm of length 1.0 cm of thickness. Its seeds are flat and oval black surrounded by an edible-flaked sweet black aril.
