Nota 1 e 2: Ela é originária da África do Sul. Ela é herbácea, rizomatosa, entouceirada, de 20-30 cm de altura, de florescimento vistoso, inflorescências terminais ralas, com 6-12 flores vermelho-escuras e o centro amarelo, formadas no final do inverno e da primavera.
