ITAÚBA-ABACATE
Árvore da família Lauraceae, da espécie Mezilaurus itauba (Meissn.) Taub. (Silvia itauba (Meissn.) Mez., Acrodiclidium itauba (Meissn.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela ocorre na Amazônia e se expande para o norte até as Guianas e, para o sul, alcança Mato Grosso. Ela pode atingir até 40 m de altura x 80 cm de diâmetro. O fruto é baga preta, medindo 25 x 13 mm, comestível, fortemente resinoso e dele se fabrica vinho. Floresce em março-abril e frutifica em junho-agosto.

Note 1 and 2: It occurs in Amazonia extending to the north of Guianas and to the south reaching Mato Grosso state. It can reach until 40 m of height x 80 cm of diameter. The fruit is a black berry, which measures 25 x 13 mm, edible, very resinous and it is used to make wine. It blossoms in March-April and bears fruits in June-August.
