Planta daninha da família Compositae, da espécie Eclipta alba Hassk. Nota 1 e 2: Ela é encontrada em todo o mundo. Ela é anual, herbácea, ramificada, ereta ou subprostrada, caule arroxeado e pubescente, medindo 30-80 cm de altura, com reprodução por sementes. Destaca-se por suas propriedades medicinais: adstringente, cicatrizante, antiofídica, antiasmática, depurativa, pirogênica e laxativa. É indicada contra eczemas, litíase e icterícia. Seu cataplasma serve para curar ferimentos feitos com ferramentas cortantes.
