LOQUAT
Árvore frutífera da família Rosaceae, da espécie Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é originária da China, do Japão e do norte da Índia, cultivada em regiões do Mediterrâneo, especialmente na Argélia e na Sicília e na Califórnia (EUA). Pouco conhecida no Brasil. Ela é revestida de belas folhas sempre verdes. Seus frutos, que madurecem na primavera, apresentam forma variável do esférico ao periforme e cor do amarelo-palha ao laranja-forte. A polpa de ser carnosa e firme ou melíflua, podendo ser consumida fresca ou em sucos.

Note 1 and 2: It is from China, Japan and the north of India, cropped in the Mediterranean regions such as Algeria and Sicily and in California (USA). Little known in Brazil. It is ever covered with beautiful green leaves. Its fruits ripe in the spring and have a spherical to piriform shape and light yellow to strong orange color. The pulp is fleshy and firm or soft and can be consumed in natura or in juice.
