Árvore dioica da família Euphorbiaceae, da espécie Alchornea triplenerva (Spreng.) M. Arg.
Nota 1 e 2: Ocorre da Bahia ao Rio Grande do Sul, na floresta pluvial da encosta atlântica. Sua madeira é leve, macia, sem cheiro, fácil de trabalhar, porém, de baixa resistência ao ataque de insetos. Seus frutos são muito procurados por pássaros.

A dioecious tree of the family Euphorbiaceae, of the species Alchornea triplenerva (Spreng.) M. Arg.
Note 1 and 2: It occurs from Bahia to Rio Grande do Sul, in the rainforest of the Atlantic slope. Its wood is light, soft, odorless, easy to work, but, it has low strength to insects attack. Its fruit are sought by birds.
