Nota 1 e 2: Nativa da África e introduzida no Brasil no início do século XVII. Seus frutos apresentam cor verde e têm gosto amargo. O solo adequado é o areno-argiloso, bem drenado e tolerante à acidez. A planta exige calor e seus frutos são apanhados imaturos.

A plant of the family Solanaceae, of the species Solanum jilo Radd.
Note 1 and 2: It is from Africa and it was introduced in Brazil, in the beginning of the XVII century. Its fruits have green color and a bitter taste. Its proper soil is the sandy clay, well-drained, and acid tolerant. It requires heat and its fruits are picked immature.
