Nome vulgar da árvore da família Malpighiaceae, da espécie Byrsonima sericea DC. (B. brasiliensis Griseb.; B. chrysophylla Mart.; Malpighia rutilans Salzm.). 

Nota 1 e 2: Ela é típica do Pará. Existem cinco variedades desta espécie: branco, vermelho, roxo, verde e grande, destacando-se a primeira como a de maior apreço no mercado e indústrias.

Note 1 and 2: It is typical of Pará state. There are five varieties of this species: white, red, purple, green, and big, being the first one highlighted as the most appreciated in the market and industries.
