TUNA
Planta da família Cactaceae, da espécie Opuntia tuna Mill. (O. bonplandii HBK., O. coccinea Hort., O. coccinilifera DC, O. horrida Salm-Dick., O. humilis Haw.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é originária das Antilhas e cultivada no mundo todo. Ela é xerófila, ereta, mas muito esparramada, atingindo de 2-4 m de altura, compondo-se de tronco principal vertical do qual partem as ramificações terminadas pelos artículos. Destaca-se pela qualidade de seus frutos e muito empregada para estabelecimento de cercas vivas. Também pode ser considerada indesejável planta daninha, por ultrapassar os limites da cultura.

Note 1 and 2: It is from the Antilles and cropped all over the world. It is xerophile, erect, but very branchy, reaching 2-4 m of height. It has a main vertical trunk from where the ramifications come from ending in articles. It is highly known because of its fruits and used to make green fences. It can also be considered a weed for trespassing the crop limit.
