TUNA-MISSIONEIRA
Planta da família Cactaceae, da espécie Cereus peruvianus Haw. (C. monoclonos DC, Piptanthocereus peruvianus Riccob.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela ocorre desde o Chaco paraguaio-argentino até o estado brasileiro do Rio Grande do Sul. Ela tem porte grande, 10-20 m de altura, colunar, mas ramifica-se livremente desde a base, de 10-30 cm de diâmetro. Destaca-se pela qualidade de seus grandes frutos amarelo-dourados presos, sem pecíolos, às arestas, oferecendo alimento refrescante.

Note 1 and 2: It occurs from the Paraguayan and Argentinian Chaco until the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. It is of high height, ranging from 10-20 m, of a straight trunk but it branches freely since its base of 10-30 cm of diameter. It is highly known because of its big yellow-golden fruits hanged to the edges without petioles, offering a very refreshing source of food.
