Árvore da família Linaceae, da espécie Saccoglottis Benth. (S. amazonica Benth.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é encontrada nas Guianas e no Brasil tropical-úmido, no Amazonas, Pará, Maranhão até Pernambuco. Ela pode atingir até 13 m de altura, folhas pecioladas, elíptico-oblongas, flores hermafroditas e amarelas, fruto drupa oblonga, 2-3 cm x 1-1,5 cm, glabra, vermelho alaranjada quando madura, contendo polpa que se consome ao natural. Ela é considerada medicinal, antirreumática.

Note 1 and 2: It is found in the Guianas and in the tropical humid Brazil in the states of Amazonas, Pará, Maranhão until Pernambuco. It can reach until 13 m of height, petiole, elliptical oblong leaves, hermaphrodite and yellow flowers, oblong berry fruit of 2-3 cm x 1-1.5 cm, glabrous, orange red when ripen, with and edible pulp to be eaten in natura. It is considered medicinal, especially anti rheumatic.
