Arbusto da família Compositae, da espécie Santolina chamaecyparissus L.
Nota 2: Ele tem caules eretos de até 50 cm de altura, com folhas esbranquiçadas, compostas, vilosas e capeadas, cujo folíolos não são pontiagudos. Extrai-se da planta a matéria prima, santonina, usada na indústria farmacêutica. O chá feito com as flores tem efeito estimulante, emenagogo e antiespasmódico e o das sementes é vermífugo. Os ramos são perfumados e combatem as traças.

Note 2: It has straight stems of until 50 cm of height, with composite hairy-coated whitish leaves whose follicles are not pointed. From it is extracted the raw material called santonin, which is used in the pharmaceutical industry. Its flower tea has a stimulant, emmenagogue and anti-spasmodic effect and the seed tea is a good vermifuge. Its branches are perfumed and used to fight against moths.
