Árvore da família Lecythidaceae, da espécie Chytroma grandifolia (Mart.) Miers. (Eschweilera grandifolia Mart., Lecythis grandiflora Miers., Lecythis grandifolia (D.C.) Berg.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é nativa da floresta pluvial da Amazônia. Ela pode atingir de 15-18 m de altura, folhas oblongo-lanceoladas, de pontas aguçadas, glabras, margem inteira, racemos axilares. Suas flores têm pedicelos robustos e curtíssimos, pixídio turbinado, medindo 5 cm de altura x 1,5 cm de diâmetro. Seu opérculo tem 5 mm de altura e semente de 3 cm de comprimento x 2 cm de largura.

Note 1 and 2: It is native of the Amazonia rainforest. It can reach from 15-18 m of height, lanceolate oblong leaves of acute edges, glabrous, whole margin and axillar racemes. Its flowers have strong and very short pedicels with a huge pixidio, which can measure 5 cm of height x 1.5 cm of diameter. Its operculum has 5 mm of height and seeds of 3 cm of length x 2 cm of width.
