Planta da família Alliaceae, da espécie Allium fistulosum L. (A. schoenoprasum), sendo o cultivar mais comum o De-Todo-Ano.
Nota 2: Ela é uma espécie condimentar de grande importância. Ela prefere clima ameno, propaga-se vegetativamente, retirando-se as mudas das touceiras da cultura anterior, constituindo cada perfilho bem desenvolvido um indivíduo próprio para ser transplantado.

Note 2: It is an herb highly used in culinary. It prefers mild climates, propagating itself through the rootstocks from the previous cropped clusters where each scape well developed is considered one individual ready to be transplanted.
