CELASTRÁCEAS
Família de árvores ou arbustos, destacando os seguintes gêneros para a fruiticultura: Celastrus, Eleococca, Hoenkia, Maytenus, Mistroxylon and Plenckia.
Nota 2: Elas têm folhas simples, alternas ou opostas, inteiras ou serradas, crenadas. As inflorescências são axilares; as flores são pequenas, esverdeadas, regulares, hermafroditas por atrofia, tendendo para unisesexuadas. O fruto é cápsula, sâmara, drupa ou baga, com sementes ariladas. Elas têm emprego no ajardinamento ou nos tratamentos medicinais.

The inflorescences are axiliar; the flowers are small, greenish, regular, hermaphrodite by athrophy or unisexual. The fruit is a capsule, drupe or berry, with ariled seeds. They can be used for gardening or medicinal treatment.
