CEREJA-PITANGA
Arbusto da família Myrtaceae, da espécie Myrcia laevigata Berg.
Nota 1 e 2: Ele é frequente nos estados de São Paulo e Minas Gerais. Ele tem folhas opostas, glabras no dorso, pilosas no ventre; as flores são melíferas, grupadas em panículas axilares; e o fruto é baga vermelha para preta, montadas em sépalas persistentes, encerrando 1-2 semestes na polpa comestível.
A shrub of the family Myrtaceae, of the species Myrcia laevigata Berg.
Note 1 and 2: It is frequently found in the states of São Paulo and Minas Gerais. It has opposite leaves, which are glabrous on the bottom and hairy at the top surface. Their flowers are honey, grouped in axillary panicles and the fruits are red to black berries mounted in persistent sepals covering 1-2 seeds in an edible pulp.
