CHAPÉU-DE-NAPOLEÃO
Arbusto da família Apocenaceae, da espécie Thevetia neriifolia Juss. (T. nereifolia Juss.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ele tem larga ocorrência americana, do México tropical ao Brasil e Paraguai. Ele é muito ornamental, sempre verde, de folhas glabras, estreitas e compridas. A ingestão das folhas por animais é violentamente mortal para os herbívoros. Quando misturado com óleo de cozinha, na proporção de 1: 200 e ingestão de no máximo 10 centigramas, serve como febrífugo poderoso no tratamento de herpes e sarna. Os frutos, também muito venenosos, fornecem sementes que são utlilizadas na confecção de colares, pulseiras e braceletes, que quando chocalhados produzem o ruído como o guizo das cascavéis.

Note 1 and 2: It is widely spread in Americas, from tropical Mexico to Brazil and Paraguay. It is ornamental, always green, of long, narrow and glabrous leaves. The leaf ingestion by animals is violentally mortal to herbivores. When it is mixed with cooking oil, in the proportion of 1: 200 and ingested, at most 10 centigrams, can act as a powerful antipyretics in the treatment of herpes and scabies. Its fruits are also very poisonous, providing seeds that are used in the manufacturing of necklaces and bracelets when shaken produce the sound of a rattlesnake.
