Nota 1 e 2: As variedades cultivadas no Brasil são: Katsura Giant, Green Striped e Numame Early. Ele é semelhante a um melão e tem o formato de um pepino, polpa branco-amarelo-esverdeada e inodoro. É utilizado no preparo de picles, muito apreciado pelos japoneses.
