Árvore ornamental da família da Leguminosae/Papilonaceae, da espécie Clitoria fairchildiana Howard (C. racemosa Benth.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é ocorre no Amazonas, Pará, Maranhão, e Tocantins, na floresta amazônica. Ela é decídua, heliófita, seletiva, higrófita. Pode atingir de 6-12 m de altura, com tronco curto e revestido por casca fina e lisa. Folhas trifoliadas, estipuladas, decíduas, longopecioladas. Folíolos coriáceos, glabros na face superior e pubescentes na inferior, de 14-20 cm de comprimento e 5-7 cm de largura. Os frutos são vagens deiscentes, que amadurecem de maio a julho, quando inicia a queda das folhas. A madeira é moderadamente pesada, mole, de resistência média, fácil de trabalhar, e de baixa durabilidade, usada na construção civil, confecção de brinquedos e caixotaria.

Note 1 and 2: It occurs in the Brazilian states of Amazonas, Pará, Maranhão and Tocantins in the Amazon rainforest. It is deciduous, heliophytic, selective, hygrophyte. It can reach 6-12 m of height, with a short trunk covered with a thin and smooth bark. Its leaves are 3-lobate, stipulated, deciduous and long petiolate. Its follicles are coriaceous, glabrous on the superior face and pubescent in the inferior one of 14-20 cm of length and 5-7 cm of width. Its fruits are dehiscent pods, which ripe from May to July when the leaves fall down. Its wood is moderately heavy, soft. Of medium resistance, easy to work and of low durability, used in the civil construction, toy and box manufacturing.
