Planta daninha da família Labiatae, da espécie Leonorus sibilicus L. (Borreria verticillata Meyer, B. latifoloa D.C., B. tenella Cham. et Schl.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela está presente em qualquer parte do Brasil onde há terra cultivada. Ela é anual ou bianual, ereta, aromática, ramificada, que se multiplica por semente. Ela é considerada melífera, forrageira e medicinal. Suas folhas e talos macerados ajudam no tratamento de contusões e seu chá é tônico e excitante, indicado contra reumatismo, bronquite e asma.
