As folhas são opostas, curtopecioladas, membranáceas, pubescentes, com pelos glandulares na face inferior. As inflorescências são terminais, em capítulos solitários ou em racemos curtos. As flores são hermafroditas, de coloração azul, infestando pastagens, linhas de cerca, lavouras perenes, beiras de estrada e terrenos baldios.
