CHULUPO
Trepadeira da família Passifloraceae, da espécie Passiflora vitifolia H.B.K. (Passiflora puniceae R. & P., P. sanguinea J. E. Sm., P. serrulata var. pubescens Griseb., P. servitensis Karst., Macrophora sanguínea Raf., Tacsonia buchanani Lemaire, Tacsonia sanguinea A. DC.), com as seguintes variedades: bracteosa, cassiquiarensis, involucrata and minor.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela ocorre desde as Antilhas, Nicarágua até o Equador e sul da Venezuela, Colômbia e na fronteira do Brasil, banhada pelo rio Japurá. Seu caule é verde-avermelhado, escassamente pubescente; as folhas são alternas, 3-lobadas, de margens denteadas, tomentosas na página inferior; as flores com 3 brácteas verdes, oblongas, de ápice triangular; o fruto é ovóide, 8 cm de comprimento x 5 cm de largura, verde, com faixas longitudinais brancas na pré-maturação, tornando-se amarelo e perfumado na maturação plena; a polpa é branca, doce, comestível, às vezes acídulas.

Note 1 and 2: It occurs from the Antilles, Nicaragua until Ecquador and south of Venezuela, Colombia and boundaries of Brazil by the Japurá River. Its stem is green-reddish, rarely pubescent. The leaves are alternated, 3-lobed, of teethed margins, tomentous on the inferior page. The flowers are with 3 oblong green bracteas of triangular apex. The fruit is ovoid, 8 cm of length x 5 cm of width, green with white longitudinal stripes in the pre-maturation process, becoming yellow and perfumed when totally ripen, the pulp is sweet , white,edible, but sometimes a little sour.
