CICADÁCEAS
Família pequena de plantas do genêro Cycas, Dioon, Platyzmia and Zamia.
Nota 1 e 2: Ocorrem nas florestas tropicais e subtropicais. Elas são arborescentes, estipe grosso, às vezes alto, com cicatrizes ou restos dos pecíolos das folhas que caíram. As folhas podem ser únicas, pequenas, escamosas envolvendo o botão terminal de uma nova série de folhas ou grandes, penadas, de prefoliação mais ou menos circinada, inseridas segundo uma espiral e persistentes unicamente no ápice do estipe.
A small family of the genera Cycas, Dioon, Platyzmia and Zamia.
Note 1 and 2: They occur in the tropical and subtropical florests. They are arborescent, thick stipe sometimes high with scars or petiole remains of the fallen leaves.The leaves can be single, small, involving the terminal button of a new leaf series or big, pennated, average circinated prefoliation inserted in a spiral and they are only persistent on the stipe top.
