CITROS
Nome geral para diversas espécies frutíferas das regiões tropicais e subtropicais da Ásia, incluindo a Índia, a Nova Guiné e o arquipélago malaio. Abrange plantas da família Rutaceae, subfamília Aurantionideae, tribo Citrae, tendo como principais gêneros Fortunella, Poncirus e Citrus.
Nota 1: Plantas de clima tropical e subtropical, entretanto 95% dos pomares comerciais acham-se localizados entre as latitudes 20 e 40º nos dois hemisférios, onde seus frutos apresentam melhores qualidades.
A general name of several fruit plants from tropical and subtropical areas of Asia, including India, New Guinea, and Malaysian Islands. They cover plants from the family Rutaceae, of the subfamily Aurantionideae, of the tribe Citrae presenting the main genera: Fortunella, Poncirus and Citrus.
Note 1: They are plants of tropical and subtropical climates, although 95% of the commercial orchards are found between the latitudes of 20 and 40º in both hemispheres where the fruits show a higher quality.
