Arvoreta silvestre da família Melastomataceae, da espécie Mouriria pusa Gardn. (Ciposia mandapuça Alv. Silv.).
Nota 1 e 2: É originária da flora dos tabuleiros praieiros do Nordeste (Piauí a Bahia) e dos chapadões de Mato Grosso, Goiás e Minas Gerais, especialmente da serra dos Parecis, onde seus frutos aparecem, os mais deliciosos das Melastomataceae, do tamanho e feição de jabuticabas, nos ramos já sem folhas. A pequena árvore alcança 5-7 m de altura; folhas úmidas, curtopecioladas, crasso-coriáceas, rígidas, oval-elípticas; flores pentâmeras, branco-rosadas, formando-se nos nós dos ramos solitários; fruto baga globosa, lisa, preta, de sabor apreciadíssimo dos naturais onde habita a espécie.
