SAPUCAIA-RUGOSA
Árvore da família Lecythidaceae, da espécie Eschweilera corrugata Miers. (Chytroma rubiflora Miers., Chytroma salebrosa Miers., Lecythis corrugata Poir., Lecythis rubicunda Miers., Lecythis salebrosa Breg., Lecythis venusta Miers.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é nativa das Guianas. Ela tem 20 m de altura e 80 cm de diâmetro, de ramos delgados horizontais. As folhas são alternas, inteiras, simples, ovais, de ápice acuminado e recurvo, glabras, coriáceas, verde-brilhantes por cima, nervuras muito salientes por baixo. Os frutos são pixídios lenhos e turbinados, 3-5 cm de comprimento, amarelo, rugoso, contendo uma semente obovóide, séssil, avermelhada com amêndoa comestível, mas amarga.

Its leaves are alternate, whole, simple, oval, of acuminate and curved appex, glabrous, coriaceous, of shining green color on the superior face and salient wrinkles on the inferior one. Its fruits are woody and turbinated pixids, of 3-5 cm of lenght, yellow, rough, with an obvoid sessil red seed, which contains an edible but sour nut.
