COPAÍBA-JACARÉ
Árvore da família Leguminosae-Caesalpinoidae, da espécie Eperua oleifera Ducke.
Nota 1 e 2: Encontra-se presente na flora do Pará, em mata inundada da floresta amazônica. Por incisões no tronco, exsuda resina oleosa, muito densa, preto-esverdinhada, de forte odor desagradável, da qual se preparam vernizes, sendo por isso, objeto de comércio no baixo Madeira, como calafeto de embarcações e fabrico de tinta.

Nota 1 and 2: It is found in the flora of Pará state in flooded woods of the Amazonian forest. From trunk cuttings, a tick black-greenish oily resin is extracted with strong and disgusting odor used to make varnishes. It is commercially viable in the lower Madeira River because it is used for craft weather strip and paint manufacturing.
