Nota 1 e 2: Ela é muito consumida na Europa. É perene, que forma touceira de 1,0 m de altura. É de clima temperado ameno, desenvolvendo-se bem em regiões montanhosas. O corte é feito no início do terceiro ano, quando as plantas rebrotarem da cobertura de terra e palha para o branqueamento do limbo e pecíolo das folhas, não muito junto ao caule. Cobre-se novamente e depois de 1 ou 2 meses procede-se uma nova colheita.

Note 1 and 2: It is highly consumed in Europe. It is perennial, that forms a clump of 1.0 m high. It is typical of a mild temperate climate, reaching its best development in mountain regions. The cutting is done in the beginning of the third year, when the plants have regrown after being covered by earth and straw with the aim to whiten the leaf surface and petiole, but not very close to the stem. Another covering is carried out and after 1 or 2 months, a new cut is done.
