Hortaliça da família Cruciferaceae (Brassicaceae), da espécie Brassica oleraceae, da variedade capitata.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é consumida em larga escala pelos portugueses e seus descendentes, destacando-se seu paladar muito agradável, considerado superior ao de outras couves. Apresenta aspecto de couve comum na qual as folhas cresceram juntas, à semelhança de um repolho cuja cabeça não fechou. A colheita tem início de 3 a 4 meses depois do plantio, cortando-se toda a parte aérea de uma só vez e eliminando-se o caule.

Note 1 and 2: It is largely consumed by the Portuguese people and their descendants, due to its nice taste better than other kales. It has the appearance of kale with grown leaves all together, similar to a cabbage, which the head did not close. Its harvest begins between 3 to 4 months after the seedling when all the aerial part should be cut only once removing the stem.
